Its my joy to share this here. Though I will be physically absent on their wedding. I thought I could write them a toast, since I was there when it all started. This is a piece of what I want to write.
"Good evening, everyone. Tonight, we are all here to honor Yetunde and Ayodeji. As the bride's housemate and sister, I feel honored to be standing next to her in absentia on such an important day in her life. We have gone through so much together in life, and I cannot imagine being anywhere but here on this special occasion.
I remember when Yetunde told me about Ayo, I was like this 'Nigerian boys in Cyprus' but she said I don't see him like that and then she added he even attends our church. And I want like okay but I don't know him though. Every day she would come home from the library telling me of her ordeals and how Ayodeji keeps talking to her and won't stop anytime soon. Then one day he came to our house with his friend and Yetunde and I were home. It was like a mini pre-introduction we ate, talked and asked a lot of questions. It was a fun evening and the beginning of this love story we have all come to celebrate today.
Ayodeji, you have such a beautiful woman in and out to spend the rest of your life with, and I am so happy that you have found a wife to share that love with for the rest of your days.
Ayodeji is a very respectful, ambitious and non-relenting gentleman and Yetunde on the otherside is a charming, intelligent and fashionable God-fearing lady who sings excellently I just remembered the times we use to sing on Saturday's during our laundry before heading to the library.
Tonight, we celebrate the union of our two wonderful friends, Yetunde and Ayodeji. Let us raise a glass in high hopes of happiness for many years to come!"
