Jack of all Trades
It is the new year, and while most of us want to get the pedal going, we should be careful about doing it all.
It is the new year, and most of us want to get the pedal going, be careful of doing it all. You might think you are crushing all your goals at once, but you are not giving your best to any of your goals.
Jack of all trades, master of none.
Achieving Success
To achieve success in multiple areas of our life, like finance, marriage, careers, personal, education and so on and so forth. We have to think strategically and plan how we will go about it.
It’s good and great if, by chance, we succeed simultaneously in all areas. However, to do so, you can’t juggle many things simultaneously. Work on one goal that could affect multiple areas of your life. For example, waking up early to exercise each day will affect your life's physical, emotional and psychological aspects.
Steps to not be a Jack of All Trades
Firstly, write down all the areas you want to succeed in and prioritise them according to their importance and impact on your overall being. Then begin writing down the sub-areas under each category and what you must do to achieve these goals. How you will achieve success and when you will begin to do those things. This way, you won't be overwhelmed as you have a plan.
Secondly, Refrain from posting prematurely on social media on goals you just started working on. Try to complete it before you share as the pressure to succeed increases, but when you take your time to work on your goals before sharing online, you work at your own pace, and there is no undue pressure whatsoever.
When you don't juggle so many things simultaneously, you can drop things that no longer serve you. However, when you are doing multiple things together, you don’t know, as you cannot take assessments. This brings me to the third point. take an assessment regularly of what you are doing.
Lastly, seek guidance from God, your accountability partner, or others you trust. Especially if they have gone through the path you are about to go and even more if they have succeeded.
Final Summary
This quote sums up what I would like to write about today.
As Adam Grant wrote, “ Productivity is overrated. What counts most is the quality of output, not the quantity. People may be impressed by the volume you produce, but the impact depends on the value you create. Success isn’t about getting more things done. It’s about doing more worthwhile things well.”
